Motivation for Ministry

Salt + Light `Ohana,

For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.

2 Corinthians 5:14-15

Our motivation to serve the Lord and share the Good News of Jesus can’t come from our feelings or fear.  It comes from the love of Christ.  From God to us!  If we have it backwards, we will experience burnout, and will surely give up when the tough times arise.  Join us this Sunday to find out what the Bible says about our motivation for ministry!

Hygiene Packs Donated
to Saint Elizabeth Episcopal Church

During this difficult time, there are many people who are going through a tough financial situation.  A few months ago, we put together 400 hygiene packs, filled with soaps, shampoos and shaving kits and were looking for a way to make the best use of them.  On Wednesday, we were able to give them to Saint Elizabeth Episcopal Church in Kalihi, as they are doing such great work to help reach out to those who are in need.

If you would like to help make food bags, Saint Elizabeth could always use the help.  They give out food bags to all who come on a daily basis.  Please contact us by phone or email and we will give you more specifics!

Lunches Brought to Staff and Teachers at Waikiki School

Another way that Salt + Light was able to help bless our community recently was to take bento lunches to the staff and teachers at Waikiki School.  This past Friday, we wanted to let the teachers and staff, who are working so hard, know that God cares about them and we are here to support them even though we can’t meet at the school right now.

Let’s continue to pray for the teachers and students during this time!
